Do outdoor LED lights attract bugs?

Release time: 2022-10-09 14:18:39  Hits: 110

LED bulbs are less attractive to bugs because they produce low heat and long wavelengths of light. Moreover, they produce little or no ultraviolet radiation. It makes them perfect for outdoor lights for events and around the home.

LEDs produce very little to no UV light, which makes them less visible to bugs. However, it is still possible for an LED bulb to produce shorter wavelengths of light (bluish white/cool white color), which will be more attractive to bugs.

If the presence of bugs is an ongoing problem, you might want to change the LED strips that you're using. If yours are on the blue end of the spectrum, switch them for something with a warm glow. LED strips that are more yellow, or orange, will be less appealing to insects.
